Bullets Softball Earns Win 1000 on Friday, March 27, 2026

Posted on 03/27/2026

What began as a modest start in the spring of 1980, with a 3–11 record under head coach Linda Keenly, has grown into one of the top small-school softball programs in Illinois. Over the past forty-five seasons, Bullets Softball has been led by six head coaches and has included nearly 1,000 players. During that time, the program has captured thirty-three conference championships, twenty-eight IHSA Regional championships, and eleven IHSA Sectional championships. The Bullets have qualified for the IHSA State Tournament nine times, earning one third-place finish and three second-place finishes, and capturing the school’s first IHSA State Championship in 1995.

Since that inaugural season in 1980, the program has finished with a winning record in forty-one of its forty-five seasons.

With today’s 12-2 win over Lincoln, Bullets Softball adds another milestone to its long list of accomplishments: win number 1,000 in program history. This achievement gives the Bullets an overall record of 1,000–346–2 and a remarkable .742 winning percentage, placing them among the top ten all-time in program wins in IHSA history.

These accomplishments are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of the coaches and players who have been part of Bullets Softball over the past half century. We look forward to celebrating the next 1,000 wins.
