Use of Jane Grebner Field and Gerry Timm Field by Outside Teams and Organizations
We would like to provide a brief update regarding the use of Jane Grebner Field and Gerry Timm Field by outside teams and organizations this spring and summer. Following the renovations and upgrades completed on both fields this past fall, we will not be allowing outside teams or organizations to reserve or use either facility during the upcoming spring or summer seasons. This decision will help ensure that both fields remain in excellent condition for our baseball and softball programs.We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to your youth baseball and softball teams as they prepare for and begin their seasons. We truly appreciate your understanding and continued support.Please note that we have several other facilities available throughout the district. These spaces may be reserved after 6:00 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends when district teams and organizations are not utilizing them. Dalton Root and Tori Zobus Nominated for the 2026 IHSA All-State Academic Team
Seniors Dalton Root and Tori Zobus were recently selected as the male and female nominees from Williamsville High School for possible selection to the 2026 IHSA All-State Academic Team.Every IHSA member school is eligible to nominate one male and one female student for consideration each February. Nominees must possess a minimum 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale after their seventh semester, have participated in a least two IHSA sponsored sports or activities during their junior and senior years, and demonstrated outstanding citizenship.Nominations will be evaluated by a committee of IHSA principals, representatives of the Illinois Activities Directors Association, and representatives of the Illinois Athletic Directors Association. Seven Varsity Teams Earn the IHSA Team Academic Achievement Award
The Williamsville CUSD 15 Athletic Department is proud to announce, that seven of the nine varsity teams from the 2025 Fall season have been awarded the IHSA Team Academic Achievement Award. To be eligible for this award, a team or activity must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, participate in the IHSA postseason, and have a minimum number of participants as determined by the IHSA. The overall GPA for the department for the season was 3.67.The bar has always been set high at Williamsville High School in terms of success for both academics and athletics. Girls Varsity DanceTryouts for the 2026-2027 Williamsville High School Sideline Dance Team will take place on both Wednesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 26 from 3:30-5:30 pm at Dave Root Court at Williamsville High School. The first day will consist of a clinic where students can learn the routine that they will perform on the final day during the official tryout. There will also be an informational meeting for all students interested in trying out and parent on Monday, March 9 at 3:16 pm in the commons area outside the fieldhouse at Williamsville High School. Important Fan Reminders for IHSA 2A Boys Basketball Regional Final on Friday, February 27
Boys Varsity BasketballSeating at Dave Root Court In order to make the experience more enjoyable for all fans when they attend games at Dave Root Court, Williamsville High School does not allow the saving or marking of seats prior to the door opening. All seating within the gym is general admission and will be available on a first come first serve basis when doors open. For the IHSA 2A Boys Basketball Regional Championship game on Friday, February 27, doors will open at 6:00 pm, with tip-off slated for 7:00 pm. We also ask the general public to not sit in the areas that are designated for our student section or the visiting team’s student section. These areas are clearly marked on both sets of bleachers at Dave Root Court and can be seen in the pictures below. Sam Shaw Becomes the First Bullets Wrestler to Qualify for the IHSA State Championship Tournament
Boys Varsity WrestlingWilliamsville High School senior Sam Shaw set a new Tradition of Excellence for WHS on Saturday, February 14, 2026, as he became the first Bullets wrestler in school history to qualify for the IHSA State Championship Tournament.Williamsville wrestling first hit the mat during the 1963–1964 school year, when Joe Coverdill started the program with nineteen wrestlers competing in the same gym where our high school and junior high programs wrestle today. The program continued the following school year but went dormant after Coach Coverdill left Williamsville following the 1965 school year.Wrestling was revived in Williamsville when the district formed a cooperative agreement with Riverton beginning with the 2011–2012 school year. Williamsville student-athletes competed as Hawks under this co-op for the next twelve seasons before wrestling proudly returned to Williamsville High School in the 2023–2024 school year. Terry Casson Recognized for Two Decades of Coaching
Boys Varsity BasketballTerry Casson was recognized for his two decades of coaching within the Bullets Basketball Program on Friday, January 30, 2026 when the Bullets hosted the Olympia Spartans. Since 2007, Coach Casson has roamed the sidelines of Williamsville Junior High, laying the foundation for the success of Williamsville Basketball that we continue to enjoy today. Over the course of his nineteen-year coaching career, Coach Casson has spent seven seasons as the 7th grade boys basketball coach, ten seasons as the 8th grade boys basketball coach, and the past two seasons as the 6th grade boys basketball coach.During that time, Coach Casson earned more than 300 career victories, five Sangamon County Championships, five IESA Regional Championships, two IESA Sectional Championships, two third-place finishes at the IESA State Finals, and two IBCA Coach of the Year Awards.
