Bullets Volleyball One of Seven Fall Varsity Teams Earn the IHSA Team Academic Achievement Award

The Williamsville CUSD 15 Athletic Department is proud to announce, that the Bullets Volleyball was one of seven varsity teams from the 2024 Fall season have been awarded the IHSA Team Academic Achievement Award. In order to be eligible for this award, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The overall GPA for the department for the season was 3.72.

The bar has always been set high at Williamsville High School in terms of success for both academics and athletics. We are proud that this group of student athletes has carried on this tradition of excellence both on the field of play and in the classroom.

Britni Walters Selected as Member of the 2024 Illinois Volleyball Coaches Association All-State Team

Britni Walters was recognized as one of the top volleyball players in Illinois by being selected as member of the 2024 Illinois High School Volleyball Coaches Association All-State Team for the Fall season.

Four Bullets Volleyball Players Earn Sangamo All-Conference Honors

The Bullets Volleyball team saw four players earn Sangamo All-Conference honors for the 2024 Fall season. Riley Holliday and Britni Walters both earned first team honors, with Riley being a unanimous selection. Hannah Holliday earned second team honors, and Brianna Walters earned third team honors.

Bullets Volleyball Team to Play for Regional Title

The Bullets Volleyball team travels to Auburn High School to take on the Warriors of Athens High School on Thursday, October 31, as it will be an all Sangamo Conference matchup for the 2024 IHSA Class 2A Regional title. Game time is 6:00 pm, and doors will open at 5:15 pm. Admission for all fans is $6.00.

Walters Surpasses 1000 Career Kills

Senior Britni Walters surpassed the 1000th kill mark for her career during the Sangamo Conference game against New Berlin on Thursday, October 17, 2024. 

Bullets Capture the Sangamo Conference Championship for the Third Straight Year

With a two set win over Illini Central on Tuesday, October 15, the Bullets captured the Sangamo Conference title title outright for the third straight season. This is the third time in program history that the Bullets have won three straight conference titles (1990 though 1992, 2012 through 2014, and 2022 through 2024). This year’s championship marks the program seventeenth overall conference title, and the program's thirty-second straight conference win, dating back to the 2021 season. 

Williamsville Sports Boosters to Host Three Night Event this Fall to Kick, Spike, and Tackle Cancer

Please join the Williamsville Sports Boosters at their three-night event this year, as they look to raise funds to help kick, spike, and tackle cancer. The funds that will be raised at these three events will go to support two local families that are currently battling cancer. These funds are in addition to those that were raised with the sale of the t-shirts at the Williamsville and Byron football game earlier this Fall.

Bullets Soccer Kick Out Cancer Night will take place on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, when the Bullets welcome the Springfield Senators to Paul Jenkins Field

 

Bullets Volleyball Spike Out Cancer Night will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2024, when the Bullets welcome the Maroa-Forsyth Trojans to Dave Root Court

 

Friday Night Lights Tackle Cancer will take place on Friday, October 18, 2024, when the Bullets welcome the Maroa-Forsyth Trojans to Paul Jenkins Field.

Shirts are available for pre-order through Monday, September 30 at 11:59 pm for all three events at the following link: https://bit.ly/4dqV8wz.  All orders will be available for pick up starting on Monday, October 7, 2024. Free Student Admission to Upcoming Home Volleyball Games

In conjunction with the WHS Student Council, the WCUSD #15 Athletic and Activity Department will be offering free admission to all WHS students to the upcoming home volleyball game:

  • Thursday, October 17, 2024 vs Illini Central (Senior Night).

In order to gain free admission, students will need to show their 24-25 WHS Student ID.

Bullets Volleyball Program Partnering with Beyond the NICU for Diaper and Wipe Drive Again in 2024

For the second straight year, the Williamsville Bullets Volleyball program have partnered with Beyond the NICU at HSHS St. John’s Children Hospital for a diaper and wipe drive starting this coming week. Anyone wanting to participate can drop off diapers and wipes at Williamsville High School.

As an extra incentive to participate in this great cause, the WCUSD #15 Athletic and Activity Department will give free admission to any fan who brings diapers or wipes to Dave Root Court on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, when we welcome the Warriors of Athens High School to town.

We look forward to all our fans in the communities of Sherman and Williamsville, as well as the fans of Athens High School, to help the Bullets flood the Beyond the NICU program with these vital supplies. This is just another way to show the great Springfield community that We Won’t Back Down when it comes to making the world a better place.

Williamsville Volleyball Program to Host Camp for Students in 1st through 8th Grade

Coach Beard and the Williamsville Volleyball Program will be hosting a three-day camp starting on Monday, June 3 at the Williamsville High School Field House. The camp is open to students in first through eighth grade for the 24-25 school year. Students will be split into the following sessions:

 

  • Session 1: 1st – 4th Grade from 8:30 - 10:30 am
  • Session 2: 5th – 8th Grade from 10:45 am – 12:45 pm.

 

Parents can register their child by accessing the registration form at the link below. Cost of the camp is $60.00 or $100.00 if two campers are coming from the same household. Registration must be completed by no later than Friday, May 17, 2024.
