Help welcome home the 2024 Bullets’ Girls Cross Country Team and celebrate their historic season on Wednesday November 13th at Dave Root Court. The ceremony will take place at 2:50 pm. Doors will open at 2:30 pm for any members of the public who wish to attend. You will enter through the main doors of Williamsville High School as indicated below. If you have any additional questions, please contact the athletic and activity office at Williamsville High School.

The Bullets captured the IHSA 1A State Championship by topping Tolono Unity on November 9 at Detweiller Park in Peoria by three points. This is the program’s first team state championship, and the fourth state championship in the history of Williamsville High School. The 2024 Girls Cross Country Team joins the ranks of the 1995 Bullet Softball Team, the 2018 Bullet Scholastic Bowl Team, and the 2019 Bullets Football Team as IHSA State Champions.
Besides the state championship, the Bullets were also regional champions, sectional champions, and Sangamo Conference Champions for the second straight season.
Congratulations to Coach Casson and the entire cross-country program on this historic accomplishment.

WHS senior, Louisa Wilson, finishes her high school cross country career as an IHSA all-state runner for the fourth time. She adds her 11th place finish on Saturday, November 9, to her two third place finishes in 2021 and 2022, and an 18th place finish in 2023.

Bullets Cross Country runner sophomore Lucas Hollinshead, finished in 17th place at the IHSA State Meet on Saturday, November 9, to earn all-state honors for the 2024 season. Besides earning all-state honors, Lucas also set a new school record with his time of 15:11.95.

For the first time in program history the Bullets Girls Cross Country Team captured the IHSA 1A Sectional Championship.
The team finished with an overall score of 76 points, nineteen points ahead of El Paso Gridley.

For the 1st time since 2019, and third time in program history (2017, 2019, & 2024) the Bullets Girls Cross Country Team captured the IHSA 1A Regional Championship.
The team finished with an overall score of 45 points, twenty points ahead of Springfield Sacred Heart-Griffin.

The WHS Girls Cross Country Team captured the 2024 Sangamo Conference Title on Saturday, October 12, at PORTA High School in Petersburg. The team finished with an overall score of 27 points, twenty-one ahead of Pleasant Plains. This was the team's second straight conference title, and the program's fifth overall.

The WHS Girls Cross Country Team had three runners earn Sangamo Conference all-conference honors at the conference meet on Saturday, October 12. Senior Louisa Wilson finished in third place with a time of 17:52.04. Sophomore Joelle Wilson finished in fifth place with a time 18:15.85 and senior Hannah Nation finished in seventh place with a time of 18:25.51.

The WHS Boys Cross Country Team had two runners earn Sangamo Conference all-conference honors at the conference meet on Saturday, October 12. Sophomore Lucas Hollinshead finished in second place with a time of 15:06.16, and senior Ethan Grebner finished in sixth place with a time of 16:02.74.

The Williamsville High School Cross Country program has a variety of open runs that are taking place throughout the 2024 Summer contact days. These workouts will begin on Wednesday, June 5. You can find the workout schedule for June at the following link:
