The Williamsville Community Unit School District #15 Athletic Department along with Williamsville Junior High School is excited to announce Alec Daykin as the first head coach in the history of the Bees Bees Wrestling Program.
“Coach Daykin brings a unique perspective to this new position in the district, having not only grown up in the community, but also participated in the athletic program as well. He knows the tradition that comes within being part of the athletic department, and his love and passion for Bullet Athletics will help him establish a solid foundation so wrestling can see a similar tradition of excellence that has become synonymous with the athletic programs at WCUSD #15.”– Adam Eucker
Coach Daykin is very familiar with Tradition of Excellence that is WCUSD #15 Athletics, having grown up in Sherman and attended both Williamsville Junior High and Williamsville High School. While in high school, he played football for Williamsville and wrestled for the Riverton/Williamsville Wrestling CO-OP. He lettered three years in both sports, earned all-state honors in football, and was a three-time IHSA sectional qualifier in wrestling. Following graduation from WHS in 2015, Coach Daykin went onto Milliken University earning a degree in sociology and criminal justice, while also playing football for the Big Blue.
Coach Daykin began his coaching career while still in high school, when he began helping with the kids club wrestling program in Williamsville. While in college at Millikin, he was also a member of the football coaching staff at Decatur St. Teresa. He began coaching for the Bullets Football Program and Coach Kunz during the 2020 season, and is now entering his fourth season on the sideline for the Bullets. Coach Daykin also just completed his first year as seventh grade history teacher at WJHS.
“I am looking forward to starting the wrestling program at Williamsville Junior High and will do my best to set a set a solid foundation in the program for years to come!” – Alec Daykin
We are extremely excited for Coach Daykin to begin working with Coach Ripperda to continue to take what has been established with the wrestling CO-OP in the past, and meld wrestling into the Tradition of Excellence that
