Alec Daykin Named New Bullets Wrestling Head Coach

The Williamsville Community Unit School District #15 Athletic and Activity Department along with Williamsville High School is excited to announce Alec Daykin as the new head wrestling coach for the Bullets.

“Coach Daykin brings a unique perspective to this position, having not only grown up in the community, but also participated in the athletic program as well. He knows the tradition that comes within being part of the athletic and activity department, and his love and passion for both Bee Bee and Bullet Athletics will help continue the solid foundation that was started with both wrestling programs last school year. We look forward to seeing wrestling continuing to establish a similar tradition of excellence that has become synonymous with the athletic programs at WCUSD #15 under his guidance.”– Adam Eucker

Coach Daykin is very familiar with Tradition of Excellence that is WCUSD #15 Athletics, having grown up in Sherman and attended both Williamsville Junior High and Williamsville High School. While in high school, he played football for Williamsville and wrestled for the Riverton/Williamsville Wrestling CO-OP. He lettered three years in both sports, earned all-state honors in football, and was a three-time IHSA sectional qualifier in wrestling. Following graduation from WHS in 2015, Coach Daykin went onto Milliken University, earning a degree in sociology and criminal justice, while also playing football for the Big Blue.

Coach Daykin began his coaching career while still in high school, when he began helping with the kid’s club wrestling program in Williamsville. While in college at Millikin, he was also a member of the football coaching staff at Decatur St. Teresa. He began coaching for the Bullets Football Program and Coach Kunz during the 2020 season and is now in his fifth season on the sideline for the Bullets. Coach Daykin was also the first coach in the history of the Bee Bee’s Wrestling program. In the program’s first year he guided the team to an IESA Regional Title, eight individual regional titles, and one individual sectional title. Under Coach Daykin’s guidance, the program also sent four wrestlers to the IESA State Tournament.  Coach Daykin is also in his third year as a seventh-grade history teacher at WJHS.

“I am looking forward to taking over the wrestling program at Williamsville High School and will continue to build the foundation of the program for years to come!” – Alec Daykin

We are extremely excited for Coach Daykin to take what has been established with the start of the wrestling program last school year and continue to meld it into the Tradition of Excellence that is Williamsville Athletics.
