Alex Hafliger Named New Bullets Boys Track Head Coach

The Williamsville Community Unit School District #15 Athletic and Activity Department along with Williamsville High School is excited to announce Alex Hafliger as the new head boys track coach for the Bullets. Coach Hafliger takes over for Scott Weller, who resigned after eight years at the helm at the end of the 23-24 season.

“It is exciting to have Coach Hafliger join us as the head coach for the boys track program. I am looking forward to working with him to improve our track and field program at all levels”– Brian Olysav, Head Girls Track Coach

Coach Hafliger brings a diverse background of experience and a passion for endurance training to his new role as the Boys Head Track Coach for the Williamsville Bullets. A 2020 graduate of MacMurray College, Coach Hafliger served as a manager and student assistant for the men’s basketball program. His dedication to athletics extends beyond the court, as he frequently participates in long-distance running, having completed several half marathons and marathons.

Coach Hafliger’s philosophy centers on building resilience, teamwork, and discipline, aiming to help athletes excel both on and off the track. Drawing from his own experiences as a marathon runner, he aims to instill the same dedication and perseverance in his athletes that have guided his own athletic journey. Coach Hafliger is also in his first year as an English/Language Arts Teacher at WHS.

“I’m honored to contribute to a team with such a rich history of excellence, and I look forward to supporting the ongoing and future successes of this program. Growing up just down the road, I feel a special connection to this area, and contributing to this athletic program and community feels like an opportunity to be part of something truly special.” – Alex Hafliger

We are extremely excited for Coach Hafliger to continue the success that Coach Weller and the previous coaches within the Bullets Track program have helped to establish. The unique perspective and life experiences that he brings to this position will help our athletes excel both on and off the field of competition. This in turn, will help carry on the Tradition of Excellence that is seen across Bee Bee and Bullet Athletics and Activities.
