2025-2026 Williamsville High School Poms Team Tryout Information

Tryouts for the 2025-2026 Bullets Poms Team Tryouts will be held on March 31st and April 1st at Williamsville High School. Tryouts will take place from 3:30-6:00 pm both nights. If you plan to try out or are interested in learning more, there will be an athlete informational meeting on Wednesday, March 12 right after school in the commons area outside of the field house. Tryouts are open to current 8th-11th grade students.If you have a scheduled conflict and cannot attend the informational meeting, please pick up a packet in the office on March 12.Please check with the office now to see if you have an up-to-date physical on file. You will not be able to participate in the try out without a current physical. Any questions regarding tryouts or the WHS Bullets Poms team can be directed to Coach Fry by email at fry@wcusd15.org.

Reid Bodine Named as a Member of the 2025 IHSA All-State Academic Team

Senior Reid Bodine was recently named as a member of the 2025 IHSA All-State Academic Team.Every IHSA member school was eligible to nominate one male and one female student for consideration earlier this month. Nominees had to possess a minimum 3.50 grade point average on a 4.0 scale after their seventh semester, have participated in at least two IHSA sponsored sports or activities during their junior and senior years, and demonstrated outstanding citizenship.Nominations were evaluated by a committee of IHSA principals, representatives of the Illinois Activities Directors Association, and representatives of the Illinois Athletic Directors Association. Thirteen male and thirteen female students from across Illinois were selected to this year’s team, and fifty students were selected for honorable mention recognition.We would like to congratulate Reid on being one of the twenty-six students from across Illinois who were selected as members of this year’s team. Tryouts for the 2025-2026 Junior High Cheer Team will be held on March 17, 18 and 19th at Williamsville High School. Tryouts will take place from 5:00-6:30 pm each night. All Seven Fall Varsity Teams Earn the IHSA Team Academic Achievement Award

The Williamsville CUSD 15 Athletic Department is proud to announce, that all seven varsity teams from the 2024 Fall season have been awarded the IHSA Team Academic Achievement Award. In order to be eligible for this award, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The overall GPA for the department for the season was 3.72. The bar has always been set high at Williamsville High School in terms of success for both academics and athletics. We are proud that this group of student athletes has carried on this tradition of excellence both on the field of play and in the classroom. The first opportunity to purchase the official athletic and extra-curricular t-shirt for the new school year will be at the Williamsville Fall Festival on Saturday, September 7. The Williamsville Sports Boosters will have the shirts available for purchase in their clothing trailer for $20.00. If you cannot make it to the Williamsville Fall Festival, these shirts will be available from the Williamsville Sports Boosters at all future dates where the clothing trailer will be. You can find out where the trailer will be in the future by visiting the sports booster’s homepage on Facebook. WHS Retiring Principal Doug Furlow Named Grand Marshal of the 2024 Homecoming Parade

It is with immense gratitude and pride, that we introduce this year’s grand marshal for the 2024 homecoming parade, Williamsville High School Principal, Doug Furlow, who will be retiring at the end of this school year. Doug is a 1987 graduate of Crab Orchard High School.  Following graduation, he attended John A. Logan Community College, earning an associate’s degree while playing baseball.  He then attended Eastern Illinois University where he continued to play baseball and earned a degree in business education.  Upon graduation from EIU, Doug began his teaching career at Cissna Park High School in 1992 while finishing his master’s degree in physical education with a concentration in sports management.  He moved to Williamsville in 1994 and continued his teaching career while coaching baseball. Bullets TV and NFHS Network Updates and Reminders for the 2024-2025 School Year

We are excited to be beginning our twelfth season of Bullets TV and our partner, the NFHS Network, on being able to provide you streaming of home events for many of our programs across the WCUSD #15 Athletic and Activity Department. What began as only broadcasting home varsity football games in the Fall of 2013, has now expanded to all home indoor events for both WHS and WJHS, as well as all home boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer, and football games. Currently, there are 186 events scheduled to be broadcast and produced by Bullets TV this school year, with more possible if we host IHSA and IESA postseason events. There are some events that we do not broadcast due to programs using these events as fundraisers. By not broadcasting these events, it encourages fans to attend in person and increases the revenue that our programs can raise. The Williamsville Junior High 7th Grade Volleyball Team captured the 2025 IESA 3A State Championship on Saturday, March 15, 2025 in a three set (25-11, 24-26, 25-19) win over Staunton in the championship game. This was the program's first state championship since 1993 and second overall.

Williamsville Junior High School in conjunction with the WCUSD #15 Athletic Department, are excited to announce a fan bus for WJHS students for this Friday’s IESA 7th Grade State Volleyball game between the Bee Bees and the Gladiators of Gower Middle School at Warrensburg-Latham High School. Signups will take place on Thursday, March 13 through lunch time on Friday, March 14, in the main office at WJHS. Cost for the bus is $15.00, and this will include transportation and admission to the game; money must be turned in when students sign up. Students will be responsible for their own food once they arrive at Warrensburg-Latham High School. The bus will leave WJHS at 3:00 pm on Friday and return at approximately 7:30 pm. In conjunction with the WCUSD #15 Athletic and Activity Department, the Bullets TV Broadcasting Program will be paying the admission fee for any WHS student that is currently enrolled at WHS so they can attend the IHSA Super-Sectional game on Monday, March 10, between the Rams of Manual and the Bullets at BOS Center in Springfield free of charge.For students to gain free admission to the game, they will need to pick up a ticket in the main office on Monday at WHS. An announcement will be made to WHS students once they can begin picking up tickets.We would like to thank Bullets TV for their generosity, and hope this encourages the WHS Student Body to attend the game on Monday. If you have any additional questions regarding this promotion, you can stop in the athletic and activity office at WHS.
